US Attorney General Janet Reno asked Congress to give the Justice Department $20 million next year to pursue its lawsuit against the tobacco industry. She said the money would be used for expert witnesses, consultants, copying costs and staffing. Currently, this additional money is not part of next year's Justice appropriation, and it is unlikely to be added to the final compromise bill.
